The Living Area
Only remaining town miller's residence

The only remaining town miller's residence in the Netherlands has been kept largely intact on the ground floor. The almost complete original furnishings take the visitor back in time to 1900.
Kitchen
18th-century delftware tiles with pictures of children's games, amongst others, can be seen above the sink in the kitchen. There is also an old wood/coal stove. A small office where the miller kept his books is boarded off in the corner.
Living room
The living room contains many pictures of mills including various pictures of the De Valk mill. There are also family portraits and pictures of family coats of arms which provide evidence of the interest the last miller (Willem van Rhijn) showed in genealogy.
Drawing room
The walls of the drawing room or green room are also mainly decorated by family portraits. This room was only used on Sundays and public holidays. The existing paintings on the chimney breast and the ceiling were created at the end of the 19th century by Joannes van Rhijn, a brother of Willem's.
